Do you want your life to count? I’m sure that the answer to this question is yes. Every person in Scripture who made a difference in their generation was able to do so because they discovered and walked in the plans and purposes of God.
I have been unable to find a single account of any person who “accidentally” fell into the plan of God for their life. Walking in the plans and purposes of God requires us to have an encounter with God which will not happen if we do not pursue Him with our entire being.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:17)
God wants you to know His plan and purpose for your life more than you want to know. You will not have a goal for your life if you do not discover what He has ordained for you to accomplish in life.
It will not be possible for you to emerge victoriously from a battle when things get tough unless you know the goal God has set for your life. Knowing His plan provides the stamina and backbone needed to stand firm without bending when the storms blow through your life!

God has never created anything or anyone that is not a piece of art. You have the potential to live an extraordinary life but will never experience it without first discovering the plan and purpose you were born to accomplish. I am not saying that every person who reads these words will be known worldwide. Everyone is not called to preach or teach, but we all are called to reach the people around us.
You meet people every single day that I will never meet. They are waiting for you to discover the plan and purpose for which you were created to fulfill. Your mailman, neighbor, and relatives all have needs that God can use you to meet! Their miracles may never manifest in their lives if you do not discover God’s will for your life. You are carrying the same power that raised Jesus from the grave in your spirit and so must learn to release it into the lives of those God leads you to.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1 – 2)
The Holy Spirit has been speaking into my life through these two verses. They are not focused just on ministers. Paul was addressing the believers in Rome. His words were addressed to all Christians and apply equally to us today as they did to the believers of his day.
God wants you to present your body to Him as a living sacrifice. Jesus offered His body as our sacrifice on the cross. Paul tells us that our “reasonable” service to God is to present our bodies to God as living sacrifices.
Paul also tells us that we must not allow ourselves to be “conformed” to this world and its way of operating. Unfortunately, most Christians have fallen into this trap. Many of their friends and coworkers would be shocked to discover they attend church every week.
It is not enough to believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, or even that miracles are for today. Many of us have allowed ourselves to be “conformed” to this world without realizing it.
Paul encouraged his readers to be transformed by the Word of God. The word translated “transformed” is the Greek word metamorphoó, the root word for our English word metamorphosis. The change God desires for us to experience requires us to hide ourselves in the Word of God in the same way that a caterpillar does when it spins a cocoon and emerges on the other side as a beautiful butterfly.
Do you want to accomplish all that God has planned for your life? You must first immerse yourself in His Word if you do. The Bible contains your creator’s thoughts, and you will not be transformed or renewed if you do not commit to spend time every day immersed in it.
