Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. (Jeremiah 1:4 – 9)
Jeremiah’s call to be a prophet came even before he was born. God revealed this to him, and he immediately responded with his “perceived” weaknesses. Jeremiah’s reaction is no different than the disciple’s when Jesus told them to feed the crowds.
The disciple’s reaction resulted from their focus on the natural realm. They were unaware of what was available to them in the spirit. Christians today are no different, and the majority are limited because they do not know what they have in Christ Jesus.
You cannot unlock the miraculous without first developing a revelation of your position in Christ Jesus! This revelation is a key missed by most Christians.
The doctor’s report may say that our body has a terminal condition. If we respond from the natural, this will become our reality. We can choose to react from our position in Christ instead and open the door for God’s miraculous power to be released in our bodies.
You do not have to depend on the world’s system to meet your needs! Christians should live different lives than their unsaved neighbors. We need to start walking in their redemptive privileges. Unfortunately, the majority do not have a revelation of who they are in Christ and will respond just like Jeremiah and the disciples’ if put into similar positions.
Jesus allowed His body to be broken to provide physical healing for our bodies. We need doctors for Christians because so few of us are walking in the fullness of the redemption supplied to us in Christ. We have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead living inside us and should not be seeking medicine first and then God only when the doctors have reached the end of their abilities.
Our subject is not divine healing. There is something along these lines that we need to consider. If doctors and medical science were God’s preferred method, can we honestly say Jesus faithfully represented God in His healing ministry? He did not impart medical knowledge or send people to doctors.
The woman with an issue of blood came to Jesus as a last resort. She had suffered for years and spent all her money seeking medical treatments. One-touch of the Master brought an end to her suffering!
I have heard ministers say that the reason Jesus did not send people to doctors is medical science was not as advanced as it is today. While this is true, we should also acknowledge the high numbers of medical malpractice suits occurring today. I have met people over the years who were suffering numerous medical ailments that are a result of mistakes made by doctors or reactions to prescribed medications.
There are indeed times when we will need to see a doctor. My point is that they are human and can make mistakes. It is time for the Church to acknowledge that they are not God’s answer to sickness and disease. Jesus did not teach medical science, but instead, He taught faith and released the miracle-working power of God.
No medical treatment or prescription available to us will ever exceed faith’s ability to release God’s miraculous power! We do not have to depend on this world’s system to get our needs met. God has supplied everything that we could ever need in Christ Jesus.
People will make excuses for the lack of power in their lives. People say that it is too hard to walk by faith. We have been talking about the account of Jesus feeding five thousand plus people. The miracle began when the disciples started to hand out the food. They had to take action before any power of multiplication manifested. Have you ever considered that this miracle would not have occurred if the disciples had not acted on Jesus’ command to feed the people?
Christians can minister to people in the power of God. Every person who will read these words knows someone struggling, hurting, or dying. If Christians would just recognize who we are in Christ Jesus, we would meet these needs through the power of the Holy Spirit.
I often wonder what would happen if most Christians were to develop a revelation of their position in Christ Jesus. We already have the answer to the world’s problems dwelling our spirits! You can minister to your family members, friends, and coworkers in the power of the Holy Spirit!
Church history tells us that only one person with a revelation of God’s power is needed to bring revival. Can you imagine what would happen if every Christian would begin to take the power already inside of their spirit and begin to use it to minister to people surrounding them?
