I believe that the number one way for us to find the will of God is in our willingness to give ourselves completely to His Word. We have looked at Paul’s exhortation to become living sacrifices. This cannot happen separate from our minds being renewed by the Word of God.
A person who gives themself to the Word of God will discover the will of God for their life. This is not something we do on a part time basis. Time must be set aside every day to give careful and considerate thought to Scripture.
God has a plan that was specifically designed for every person who will ever live. He has not hidden this plan from us but we must seek it. It is not hard to find it if we are willing to pay the price and set aside other things to seek God in His Word.
It seems that the majority do not believe God has a plan for them. They may believe He does for those called to full time ministry but struggle with the thought of Him having one for their lives.
God has a specific plan for your life. It is not hard to find if you are willing to enter it through the narrow gate of becoming a living sacrifice. If you will commit to pay the price to become one, God will reveal His will to you!
Boredom and depression are both the result of living without a goal or vision. It is not possible for us to have either of these if we do not understand what the will of God is for our lives. When we His plan vision will accompany it. The vision will provide us a goal to pursue.
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
Ephesians 3:20
God is supernatural. His plan is equally supernatural. It will be much greater than anything we could ever think or desire for our lives.
His plan will always be beyond our ability to accomplish in our own efforts. He knows that we will not depend on Him if we are able to accomplish what He has called us to do in our own efforts.
We will always be called to something that is much bigger than us. This is why many people miss the plan of God. There are ministries who will lead people through the process of identifying their natural abilities. The goal is determining our abilities to identify God’s plan.
If we choose the course of our lives based on our own talents and abilities we will live far below the plan of God. That is not what God desires for us. He has called us to live supernaturally!
