Traditions Of Men Part 36

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Mark 7:13

One of the traditions that has really hindered the faith walk of many Christians is the one which tells us we must continuously reapply the blood of Jesus. When a person is converted and becomes a Christian all of their sins are placed under the blood. This includes past, present, and future ones!

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15

Jesus obtained an eternal redemption for us. It is not good just until the next time we sin.

I have heard ministers say that a person will go to hell if their sin is not covered by the blood of Jesus. This is absolutely false! Jesus obtained an eternal redemption and all of our sins are covered by His blood.

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.
Hebrews 10:12

Religion is basically teaching that Jesus is not seated at the right hand of God. If He has to reapply His blood every time a person sins then He can’t sit down!

Jesus only died for our since once. There are people who will reject the idea of sin being forgiven before we commit it. If this were not true then Jesus would have to die every time any person sinned!

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15

We are provided an eternal redemption in Jesus’ one death! He died before we were born and it is through His shed blood that all sin has been forgiven. Sin has been paid for and is no longer the issue between humanity and God.

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:13-14

The Old Testament Law provided sanctification for the flesh. It could not purify the human spirit. The New Covenant provides cleansing for our spirit through the blood of Jesus.
