The Fundamental Principle Of God’s Kingdom 02

Jesus referred to the Word of God as “seed” in Mark 4. God will impart revelation knowledge into our souls if we faithfully fix our attention on the Word and begin to “plant” it in our souls.

The Word of God will change us as it becomes rooted and grow in our souls. You will find that the joy and peace so many Christians struggle to find will begin to manifest. Peace is much more than an emotional experience multiplied in your life as your knowledge of God’s Word increases (2 Peter 1:2).

Christians chase emotional experiences due to not understanding that they are a “spirit,” and God deals with us first through our “spirits.” While I acknowledge that there are times when the Spirit manifests in such a tangible way that we experience emotional manifestations, we cannot live our Christian lives based on emotional experiences.

I used to run to services if I heard the Holy Spirit was manifesting and people had emotional outbursts. I’ve grown in my relationship with the Lord and have learned to seek Him and not an emotional touch from Him. If people run, dance, or fall to the floor, it may result from the Spirit’s presence, or it may be immature Christians reacting to Him from the flesh. Jesus tells us to seek first the Kingdom, and it is not our place to judge what other people are doing.

Permanent change and freedom occur in the lives of those Christians who move beyond the physical and emotional realms. These are the ones who build their lives on the Word of God alone. You will find your life changed by the Word if you commit time to meditate on it each day.

The Bible is the primary tool chosen by God to bring permanent change to our lives. We have neglected it and sought change through prayer or an emotional experience in service. God’s method requires continuous and constant study and focus on His Word. It may take more time than having a lightning bolt hit us from heaven, but a far more stable Christian experience will result.

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. (Isaiah 28:10)

The parable of the sower, which is in Mark 4. Jesus discusses four types of ground that seed is planted in at the beginning of the chapter and then He privately provides the interpretation to His disciples in the second half. The truths contained in this parable will change your life when you gain revelation of the principles it conveys.

I think the point is we cannot live off someone else’s revelation and expect permanent change to occur in our lives. We must open the Bible and meditate on its truths until it becomes personal revelation knowledge. No one can do this for us, and far too many are attempting to live their Christian life using someone else’s revelation.

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. (Mark 4:16 – 17)a

When you start to pursue God, persecution is guaranteed to follow. The enemy understands how dangerous a Christian with personal revelation is to his plans, so he will do everything possible to stop you. The person attempting to live on another’s revelation of God’s Word will have no chance of successfully standing when the storms begin.

I have committed not to allow Satan to steal the Word from me. I’m committed to digging in when the Holy Spirit quickens me while listening to a message and meditating on the truths I’ve heard until they become a personal revelation in my heart.

My commitment to pay whatever price is necessary for the Word to become revelation has radically changed my life. The principles contained in the parable of the sower are foundational to my being able to do this. They will enable you to do the same if you’re willing to open the Bible and spend whatever time is required to begin walking in revelation knowledge.
