We serve an extraordinary God. He has emotions, and the Bible does not depict Him as expressionless. Heaven will not be a stoic place! The people there are not afraid to be loud when praising their creator. Our fear of being heard worshiping God is a sign of insecurity and weakness. We are more concerned with what the people around us think than what God thinks, which must change. You cannot be ashamed to worship your creator and walk in the power of God at the same time!
I provided you with three keys to unlock your spiritual sensitivity earlier. They are 1) recognize the Holy Spirit’s presence, 2) reverence the Holy Spirit, and 3) responding to the Holy Spirit. These three keys will enable you to grow and increase your awareness of His presence in your life each day.
Reverence of the Holy Spirit’s presence must become an integral part of your life if your goal is to walk in God’s power and authority. You will find that faith is essential to your relationship with Him, which will depend on the level of reverence you have for His presence.
Christians are called to walk by faith and not by sight. Your relationship with the Holy Spirit will require faith. His presence is not something that you will “feel,” but by faith; you’ll know that He is with you.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. (Hebrews 11:6)
Enoch’s relationship with God required that he walk by faith. God became such a reality in his life that Enoch could fellowship intimately with his creator. Eventually, Enoch drew so close to God that he was translated and never seen again on the earth.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:8)
If you commit to spending time with God, you will find that He will be equally committed to spending time with you. The Holy Spirit is present with you and is just waiting for your invitation to fellowship with you!
Enoch invited God into His life. God became more real to him due to his willingness to separate from those around him to spend time getting to know God. Are you willing to make the same level of commitment to set aside your daily activities and spend time with the Holy Spirit?
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalm 111:10)
The fear referenced in this verse is not a tormenting fear. Instead, it is a reverential fear that causes us to approach God with a much greater level of respect.
And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. (Isaiah 11:2)
The wisdom of God is available to you, and the Holy Spirit is waiting to impart it to you. To access it will require developing your awareness and respect for Him.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)
Accessing God’s knowledge and wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. The person of God who is in the spirit of every Christian is the Holy Spirit. He is with you and waiting for you to acknowledge that He is walking with you.
We must develop an awareness of the Holy Spirit’s presence. He is with you as your reading these words. If you acknowledge Him, He is eager to develop a relationship with you. The first step though is for you to acknowledge His presence and look to Him.
