But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:11)
God raised Jesus from the grave by the Holy Spirit.
I believe that Jesus’ resurrection is one of the greatest demonstrations of the power of God.
But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. (Luke 11:20)
Jesus said that He cast demons out with the “finger” of God. Many Christians live in fear of Satan and his demons when they have the fullness of God’s power in them. You have authority to cast out even the biggest of these, and it will not even take more than a “finger” full of God’s power to do so!
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
You do not have to fear the devil or any of his demons! Jesus defeated him, and he will flee from any Christian that has submitted themselves first to God.
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. (Ephesians 1:19 – 23)
Jesus cast out demons with the “finger” of God. He did not require a tremendous amount of power to do so. On the other hand, his resurrection required the “exceeding greatness” of God’s power to be manifested.
Jesus’ resurrection was much different. When God brought Him forth from the grave, every human being who will ever live was identified as being raised with Jesus. All sin and resulting judgment for mankind for every generation was put away and dealt with in the resurrection!
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:11)
Christians live far below their redemptive rights due to not recognizing their position in Christ and the Holy Spirit’s presence in our daily lives. The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead and is dwelling in the spirit of every Christian.
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:14)
An “earnest” is a down payment representing good faith. Paul tells us that the Holy Spirit is God’s “earnest” payment, showing promise of our physical redemption. You can enjoy some of the benefits of your eventual physical redemption in this life.
You are not immortal, but you can experience a “quickening” resulting from the Holy Spirit’s presence in your mortal body. I’ve experienced this at various times when I’ve felt exhausted but had responsibilities that needed my attention.
The Holy Spirit is all-powerful. He is the one who raised Jesus from the grave, and He is the one who provides us with a “quickening” in our mortal bodies. One simple phrase that has helped me access this is found in Joel 3:10.
… let the weak say, I am strong. (Joel 3:10)
I encourage you to confess this over yourself. You will find it becoming rooted in your soul resulting in your physical body being “quickened” by the Holy Spirit.
The last aspect of the Holy Spirit is that He is “omnipresent.”
O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. (Psalms 139:1 – 3)
The Holy Spirit is interested in even the smallest details of your life to the point that He even keeps track of the number of hairs that are on your head (Luke 12:7)! He knows everything about your life and desires to be help you with every aspect but is waiting for your invitation to step in and help.
