Part 1
We are going to examine the ministry and power of the Holy Spirit. Many Christians have received the “baptism” in the Spirit who are not walking in His power or anointing. Both are critical to every aspect of the Christian life.
I believe that there is no reason any Spirit-filled believer should experience any level of defeat. We do have an enemy, and he will attack us. Every Christian has access to the power that will enable them to overcome them all.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26
Many passages refer to the Holy Spirit as “the Comforter”. He will give us access to His power and will enable us to deal with every problem experienced. The Spirit-filled Christian should be living at a level far above the world!
Over the years, I’ve found that the majority of Christians approach life from their “abilities.” They act as if the power of God is unreachable. These people plead with God to help them break through demonic strongholds or give His Spirit a touch.
A revelation of the Holy Spirit’s ministry will change our lives. He “indwells” the Christian spirit. We should not be living powerless lives! His power is available for us to tap into, and we have not been left helpless by God.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4
Christians who view themselves as being powerless are denying the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He is living in our spirit. We should approach our situations differently.
Each one of us will come up against situations that we will need to fight through. The Holy Spirit will help us. We must renew our minds to His presence and availability.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 16:7
I believe that most Christians would choose to have Jesus physically present over what they are experiencing now. They would prefer to have Him standing before them to pray and encourage and pray for them. His statement in this verse tells us that He would disagree!
Jesus told His disciples it would be better for them to have Him leave. His departure opened the door for the Holy Spirit to come and indwell us, which is far better than having Jesus physically present with us!
We have the same power inside us that was active in creation, in every miracle recorded in the Bible, and that raised Jesus from the dead. We have the dynamo behind every act of God living inside of us. A revelation of this truth will change our lives.
