Fundamentals Of Victorious Christian Living Part 17

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Colossians 2:9

Paul tells us that we have the “fulness of the Godhead” dwelling inside of our spirits. This is not something we are going to experience. It is a present-tense reality now!

Christians allow themselves to live in poverty, experience sickness, and suffer depression as a result of their lack of knowledge in regards to redemption.

I wonder what our reaction will be in heaven when we realize that God has provided the means for us to prosper and be in health (3 John 2) while living this life.

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
Philemon 1:6

I have heard people say that we won’t be hurt by anything we don’t know about. This is not true! If we don’t know what God has imparted to our spirits we will live substandard Christian lives. This is why Paul instructed Philemon to acknowledge “every good thing” that God had put in him.

Many people believe the only way to receive from God is for a minister to lay hands on their head and pray an impressive prayer. There are times the Holy Spirit will move in this manner but it should never be our first approach to receiving from God.

Everything that we will receive from God comes from the inside out. He has imparted everything “pertaining to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3) in our spirit. We access this supply by faith which is fed on with the Word of God.

Some people talk about how bad their lives are. They often are the ones who will show up at every altar call seeking an audience to talk about their pains and illnesses. This approach to Christianity is completely wrong!

If we want to be delivered from the things holding us in bondage, we must first be set free in our soul. This will require us to spend time meditating in the Word of God every day. It will require work but the result will be worth it.

The power of God will be released to flow outward from within us when our soul (i.e., mind, will, emotions) becomes renewed with the Word of God. It is the bridge between our spirit and physical lives and it is often neglected in our pursuit of God.

It seems as if the majority of Christians live defeated lives. Most attend service on Sunday and never think about God until the next service. Those who do think of Him will rarely pick up their Bible and read it between services.

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:21

Grace cannot reign in our lives without a clear understanding of righteousness. The majority of our issues we struggle with are a result of our lacking revelation of it. This will always begin with an understanding of our position in Christ Jesus.
