We have been talking about our standing before God. This is the message of righteousness. Many lack a revelation of their position in Christ and as a result live under condemnation their entire Christian lives.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Romans 8:1
Paul tells us that we have been set free from condemnation. We will not experience this freedom without a clear understanding of our position in Christ.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Mark 16:15-20
God desires for us to walk in His power. The only qualification to do so is for us to “believe”.
It seems simple. Believe and the signs listed in Mark 16 will operate through our lives. If this is the only qualification, why aren’t we seeing more Christians walking in the power of God?
A person who is focused on their shortcomings and lack of ability will struggle with believing. I have heard people talk about being unworthy to be used by God. Their focus is on self not on God!
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
Proverbs 23:7
If we are thinking of our humanity and unworthiness we will not walk in the power of God. Christians will talk about being sinners who are saved by grace. This is not what Scripture teaches! We were sinners, we were saved by grace, but now we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
The only way that we will begin to walk in the victorious life is to quit operating in our flesh. We must move from “self” into our position in Christ!
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
1 John 4:17
When a person accepts Jesus they are made righteous. They are given right standing before God and are spiritually just as pure, holy and righteous as Jesus is! Christians will only be able to respond to situations in life to the degree of revelation that they have of this truth.
God does not use people based on natural ability or talents. Our relationship with Him will be in the spirit and His anointing is upon our spirit. This is something that it seems a majority of Christians do not understand.
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:14
Paul is not talking about the future. We can participate in His glory in this life!
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2 Corinthians 4:7
Paul prayed for the Ephesian church to have their spiritual eyes opened to the “glory of his inheritance in the saints”. We are filled with God’s glory now. The glory is inside the spirit of every born again Christian.
The Christian was made righteous and filled with the glory when they made Jesus the Lord of their life. We have been sealed in Christ by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:3). Our spirits are just as glorious today as they will be when we arrive in heaven!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16
Paul was writing to Christians. We have the mind of Christ and are filled with His glory. This is a foundational revelation it seems most Christians have not entered into. It is also the key revelation required for us to walk in the victorious life God has planned for us.
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
1 John 2:20
John tells us that we “know all things”. The “mind of Christ” within the born again human spirit has access via the Holy Spirit to all of God’s wisdom. We have access to this through our fellowship with Him.
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 4:24
The new man is our born-again spirit. We were created in “righteousness and true holiness” but will receive no benefit if we do not “put on” this new life God has provided.
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
Colossians 3:10
Paul once again tells his readers to “put on the new man”. He provides a clue on how to do this. We “put on the new man” by renewing ourselves to the knowledge of God. This knowledge is found in God’s Word. The “new man” and associated “unction” are “put on” by spending time meditating on the truths of Scripture.
