Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
John 14:12
Have you ever given much thought to what Jesus told His disciples in this verse? He actually said that any person who believed on Him could not only do the works we read about in the Gospels but also greater works than those!
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2
We will not work the works of Jesus by accident. This will require us to make a commitment to spend time on a daily basis meditating in Scripture.
If we spend enough time meditating on God’s Word, it will change us. We will no be squeezed into the world’s mold and we will begin to see things differently.
This past year has seen a tremendous economic downturn globally. We are surrounded with lack but this does not have to affect us! God’s Word will enable us to see increase when everyone else is seeing decrease.
Christians should be living life opposite of what unbelievers are living. We are different and able to tap into the very faith that created the universe. There should be a noticeable difference between us and the unsaved.
Unfortunately the majority of Christians have been as impacted as their unsaved neighbors by the global pandemic. We lack revelation of the redemption provided us by Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.
News reports are full of increasing numbers of virus infections and out of control unemployment. Christians should not be affected the way our neighbors are! God is our source and not the economy or a vaccine.
We have been squeezed into the mold of this world. Most Christians react to world events the same as their neighbors because they have not been renewed in their minds. They listen to the same news reports, watch every game on television, and keep up with their favorite sitcom but have no time to meditate in the Word.
There is a narrative being forced in the media today which is biased against Christianity. This is systematically feeding lies to society and Christians seem to be standing shoulder to shoulder with their unsaved neighbors partaking in turn. If we want to walk in the plan of God our diet must change!
We will be taken advantage of by the worldly system around us if we do not have the a revelation of the Word to balance our commitment to God. There have been many Christians who have been manipulated. The majority had a commitment to God but were too “busy” to develop a relationship or spend time meditating in His Word.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7
Responsibility to resist is on us. The average Christian will beg God to deal with the devil for them because they do not realize He has given them the authority.
“Oh Lord if you don’t move in this situation I’m going under!”
A person who prays like this has been squeezed into the mold of the world! They do not have a revelation of who they are in Christ Jesus.
You can have a commitment to God; submit yourself to God; and still be overtaken by Satan! A commitment must be accompanied by revelation knowledge that can only be gained from committing ourselves to spend time meditating in the Word of God.
