Traditions Of Men Part 33

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.
Hebrews 10:12

Jesus finished His redemptive work and sat down at the Father’s right hand. Our atonement is complete. Jesus is not constantly having to reapply His blood at the heavenly mercy seat every time we sin!

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Mark 7:13

Religious tradition tells us that we must continually reapply the blood over our lives. When we were born again the blood covered all of our sins. This included our past, present, and future sin. Jesus’ blood provides mankind with an eternal redemption.

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:12

Our redemption is not conditional upon us living a sin free life. It is based on the blood of Jesus which has covered every sin.

Religion provides us with the impression that Jesus is not seated and that He is still in the Holy place prepared to present His blood every time any person sins. This is not what we are told in Hebrews!

Jesus died for our sin one time. He presented one offering that provided redemption for every sin for all time that any man, woman, or child will ever commit.

There are people who refuse to believe that God can forgive sin before a person commits them. They do not account for the fact that Jesus only died once. His death was the one offering that dealt with all sin for all time!

Sin has been paid for! It is no longer the issue holding us back from a relationship with God.

This is something most churches are not teaching. There are ministers who tell us that God cannot use us if we have unconfessed sin. This will hinder our ability to hear His voice but His grace has made us worthy to serve Him.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Hebrews 10:14

Jesus offered one sacrifice and through it obtained eternal redemption for mankind.

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:13-14

The Old Testament Law could not purify the heart. It’s sacrifices provided a covering for sin but this was temporary. Each sin required a new sacrifice.

The Old Testament provided a covering for our flesh.

The New Testament provides cleansing of the heart.
