Keys To Increasing In Spiritual Awareness Part 8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (AMPC)

“I don’t have to put up with what they are doing to me!”

“I don’t agree with the way they are running things!”

Have you ever heard anyone say things similar to these statements? Maybe you have even said something very similar. They are very self focused!

We will develop in our spiritual awareness being preoccupied with how other people are treating us. In light of eternity it does not matter how we feel about the way someone else is following the Spirit of God. For us to move forward in our spiritual growth we must stop judging other people in church and second guessing the leadership!

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7

Paul tells us that we are called to walk by faith. The opposite of this is walking by the input of our five physical senses. This would include our feelings!

We live in a society that is dominated by feelings. People are overly sensitive to their feelings and emotions.

We need to grow up and stop being so easily offended! If we allow ourselves to be led by feelings we will never learn to be Spirit led.

God desires for us to grow and develop in our spiritual walk. Many will never do this because they do not stay where they are assigned. They become offended and leave the church God called them to.

There are far too many Christians bouncing from church to church. We have masses of people doing this who are not being led by the Spirit to do so. They need to realize that the one common denominator in each church they attend is themselves.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.
2 Timothy 4:3

People flock to churches with ministers who will tell them what they want to hear. This has led to the rise of “seeker friendly” service formats designed to avoid anything that could cause offense.

We are called to walk by the leading of the Spirit of God. Our feelings and emotions are undependable. The more time we spend in prayer and meditation in the Word of God the less dependent on our feelings we will be.
