For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
Millions of dollars are spent every year on self help books. People look for the magic formula that will enable them to become successful. Christians do not need to look any further than the Word of God. Our success will be guaranteed if we learn to walk by faith!
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12
There are many enemies that will need to be faced. Satan and his cohorts will attack and try their best to distract us from the Word of God. If we do not fight the fight of faith we will lose.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4
The Holy Spirit dwells inside our spirits. He is the second Comforter sent to guide us in our journey on this planet. If we will stand firm in faith we will overcome and He will help us at each step of the battles we face.
Paul told us to fight the good fight of faith. It is our decision. God is not going to force anything on us.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
Grace has provided salvation but this must be received by faith. Faith is our part. We lay hold of what has been provided by grace with our faith.
Religion teaches the life of a beggar. It is powerless because it’s traditions discourage Christians from fighting.
We are called to overcome and not beg. Many well meaning people are begging God to do for them what He has already provided in Jesus’ redemptive work. We need to be fighting instead of begging!
God will not do what He has instructed us to do. There are people who pray for Him to kick the devil out of their lives. Their prayer is not answered because He told us to resist the devil.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7
I submit to God first and then I resist the devil. God is not going to resist the devil for us. There are millions of Christians who do not understand this simple truth.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
Living by faith will require us to make a firm decision not to waiver from God’s Word. The life lived by faith will require us to fight. This is the fight Paul wrote to Timothy about.
The Lord directed me to study healing around the year 2000. I obeyed and began an intense study of the subject. What seemed like a short study turned into an approximate five year journey into the truths of God’s healing covenant.
Sometime in 2004 a lump began to form just above my right eye. I spoke to it, confessed God’s Word over it, but still it grew.
The lump grew until it was about the size of a golfball. A biopsy was performed and a follow up to discuss results scheduled. I’ll never forget that day. The doctor sat behind his desk, looked me in the eye, and delivered the news that the lump was a malignant melanoma. I was told that they could extend my life six months if I would agree to an aggressive treatment regime.
It is quite possible that I would have left that office in total despair had I not obeyed God’s leading to study healing. The foundation that had been built in my spirit enabled me to fight the good fight of faith.
I never did go back to the doctor. The Holy Spirit led me to Reverend Keith Moore’s series on Receiving and Ministering Healing. Over the next year I listened to that series more than one hundred times and hand wrote each message word for word at least six times.
I am not sure when the lump shrunk. The Word of God became more real to me than it was. A follow up test was run almost two years later by another doctor because there is still a small lump remaining. The results this time though showed nothing more than a calcified cyst!
My life is the result of a miracle manifesting in my body. The doctor said I had six months to live almost sixteen years ago. Walking out the manifestation required me to fight. The Holy Spirit was with me each step of the way and today there is no trace of cancer in my body!
God did not place that malignant melanoma on my forehead. I chose not to quit. There were times I was tired and it would have been easy to quit. Pressing forward required me to be fully persuaded that God had bought and paid for my healing in Christ Jesus. This persuasion only came about as a result of many hours spend meditating on healing Scriptures for the five years prior to my diagnosis. If I had not obeyed and entered into this study I would not have been prepared to fight which would have most likely resulted in my life being cut short.
