What Is Faith Part 12

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:17

The mysteries of God’s kingdom are revealed to us from “faith to faith”. If we approach a message with little to no expectation of hearing from God we will not receive anything.

Faith is the key that unlocks revelation knowledge.

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
Jude 20

The Holy Spirit will give us utterance to pray. As we yield to these utterances we will find ourselves being built up in faith.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

Faith will always be built on the Word of God. It does not come from spending hours in prayer. If we are not giving careful and considerate thought to the Word we will not grow in faith even if we’ve spent hours in prayer.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It will grow in relationship to the amount of time we spend meditating in Scripture by faith.

Over time we will find ourselves moving in a cycle. We hear, our faith grows, and the when we hear again more revelation will come. As faith grows we will receive more light, revelation, and answers!

Christians allow themselves to become busy. They make excuses and lose respect for the things of God. We will find that our ability to receive from God’s Word will grow in conjunction with the respect we have for it. This will in turn cause faith to grow.

A phrase heard long ago which has helped me is “little faith equals little revelation and big faith equals big revelation”. We do start where we are at but the more effort and expectation we apply to God’s Word, the more our faith will grow!

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:17

God’s ways and revelation come to us “from faith to faith”. Every day we should be doing something to increase our faith and reverence for the things of God. This will require us to continuously increase our expectation of what we will receive from sermons and our private time of study.

Faith is not a set of beliefs or tenants adhered to by the church or denomination we are part of.

Faith is not a theological position.

Faith is not a “movement” or group because every believer must walk by faith.

We have seen that faith is how God functions. Godliness then is walking by faith!

We serve a faith God. This is why our mistakes and sins do not cause Him to lose hope. He is expecting us to get our acts together!

God has big plans for each one of us. These extend beyond the life we live on this earth. Our lives may only extend to seventy or eighty years but His plan for us will continue throughout eternity.

Our lives on this planet are brief compared to eternity. God is using them to groom us for what He has planned for the ages to come.

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us.
2 Timothy 2:12

We are preordained to rule and reign with Jesus for eternity. None of us have the ability to understand what this means. It must be received by faith!

Our focus is on this life. If we are faithful and finish our course in this life we will reign with Him in the next. For now let’s do whatever is needed to grow in our faith.
