Keys to Unlocking The Plan Of God Part 19

Far too many Christians today relate their acceptance by God to their performance in His service. Our acceptance is based in Jesus’ redemptive work alone!

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:6

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:1-2

Paul tells us that our “reasonable service” is to become “living sacrifices”. This should be our first priority.

Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That’s the most sensible way to serve God.
Romans 12:1 (CEV)

Presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice is not an exercise reserved to those serving in the ministry. Jesus died for us. The very lease we can do in return is to live for Him!

The Lord gave Himself on the cross. He did not do this just to make us servants. His desire was for us to be drawn into relationship. This begins with us presenting our bodies as living sacrifices.

Many Christians begin by seeking God for His plan. They pray for revelation of which career He would like them to pursue or if He desires for them to pursue ministry or not. I believe the reason so many struggle with finding the will of God is simply found in the fact that they are approaching it the wrong way.

Paul tells us that our reasonable service is to become “living sacrifices”. This must be our first stop on the journey into His will. Doing so will ensure one hundred percent of our hearts have been given to God. Once God has our heart, He will be able to use us in any way He desires.

Many people struggle with trying to find their place. They find every door closed and do not feel as if their talents are not being utilized correctly for the kingdom. We need to realize that in most cases this happens because we are not useable. God does not have our whole heart and therefore is not able to use us at the level He desires. It is time for us to begin praying for God to make us usable!
