What Is Faith Part 7

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.
2 Corinthians 4:13

Faith should affect the way we speak. When something bad happens we have a choice. Are going to speak about it or are we going to speak about what the Word of God says?

We can focus our words on how people have treated us or we can speak words of faith over their lives. The choice will always be ours to make.

It is critical that we train ourselves not to follow along with the world in our conversation. Christians should act like their heavenly father. We must always ask ourselves what the Father would say about our situation.

God speaks life into situations. He never talks death or how bad a situation is. We must train ourselves to follow His example.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Proverbs 18:21

God’s Word is full of life. The more we speak it over our life, the more of His life will be release into our lives.

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.
2 Corinthians 4:13

As we meditate in Scripture, we will find the spirit of faith will become intertwined with our spirits. This will affect our actions and our conversation.

Our reaction to situations is a result of how we’ve trained ourselves. If the first words out of our mouths are full of death it is because we have trained ourselves to respond this way. We can retrain ourselves to respond with words of faith.

The Spirit of God will help us retrain our mouths. We can come to the point where our first response will be sourced in Scriptures.

Our mouths will either be filled with faith or fear. It is our choice and the words we speak reflect on what we have hidden in our hearts.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Luke 6:45

Jesus tells us that the words flowing out our mouths originate in the heart. We must examine what is being fed into our hearts.

Faith is the only thing that please God (Hebrews 11:6). The world is full of people who respond with death and cursing to negative situations. Think about how it must touch His heart for us to respond to our situations with words of faith.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

Paul tells us that we are to live our lives by faith. This is something many have never learned. God sent His Son to open the doorway for us to step over into the supernatural. If you’ve never made Jesus the Lord of your life then please pray the following prayer:

“God. I choose to believe in you and your son Jesus. He paid the price for my sin through His death on the cross. I believe you’ve raised Him from the dead and invite Him into my heart and life. In Jesus Name”

If you have prayed that simple prayer for the first time then you are saved. The Holy Spirit has taken up residence in your spirit and He will help you to retrain your flesh to walk as God walks.
