How To Receive Healing Part 21

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Mark 5:25-34

We ended our last post with the healing account of the woman with an issue of blood. In this account we saw that there will sometimes be a tangible manifestation of the anointing.

Jesus felt “virtue” leave Him. This is a reference to the anointing. It was not activated through a ministry gift. The woman was able to tangible access the anointing through her faith!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8

Jesus is unchanging. If this woman was able to access the healing anointing by faith doesn’t it seem that we should be able to as well?

And he said unto her, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Notice that Jesus did not attribute her healing to a “gift” or manifestation of the Holy Spirit. He said that it was her faith that made her whole!

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

We see in this account that the woman “heard” of Jesus. Paul tells us that faith comes through hearing. She heard, she received faith, and her faith propelled her to action!

There are people who are anointed to minister the healing anointing.

And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
Acts 19:11-12

This is an interesting account. Paul ministered in the miraculous. We also see that “handkerchiefs” and “aprons” were taken from him to be laid on the sick and oppressed. This resulted in mighty deliverances.

There is a tangible anointing that can be transferred into cloths. We see this in Paul’s ministry.

John G. Lake described this anointing by saying, “Electricity is God’s power in the natural realm; Holy Ghost power is God’s power in the spirit realm.”

We have to plug a device into an electrical outlet to gain any benefit from electricity. The outlet is our point of contact in the natural realm. In the spirit realm we plug into the anointing through faith. Our faith then becomes the point of contact by which we access God’s power.

In both of our accounts we can see the healing anointing being transmitted through clothing. The woman did not literally touch Jesus’ body. She touched the “hem” of His clothing. Paul sent handkerchiefs that became conduits of God’s power resulting in many being healed and delivered.

In an earlier post we discussed the laying on of hands. This is different. Oil becomes a point of contact but it does not transmit the healing anointing. There is nothing wrong with using oil but it is not a transmitter like cloth is.

We are focusing on receiving healing in this series of posts. The sick person does not need to know all the nuances. Their sole responsibility is to approach God with faith. This is what activated the healing anointing for the woman. It is what will activate it in our lives today!
