Traditions Of Men Part 2

I have heard people confess that Jesus loves them. This is something every Christian believes. Unfortunately the majority seem to believe this to be true only when we measure up to some artificial standard.

“Jesus loves me as long as I do the right thing.”

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Mark 7:13

“God is faithful when I meet His requirements.”

“God is faithful to those who are faithful to His Word.”

Both of these statements are incorrect. They do not match the Word of God. Each is rooted in religious tradition that has given birth to doctrines of men which make the Word of God “of none effect”.

We say that God is good. This is true. Many will say this and also say that He is the source of their sickness or troubles. They are making the Word of God of “none effect”.

My goal is this series of posts will be to counter some of the more common traditions I’ve encountered over the years. I want you to see how good God is. He desires only the best for you but can only do as much in your life as you’re able to receive by faith.
