Welcome to our 200th post in this blog. It also the 9th in our series on receiving healing. Let’s pick up where we finished.
We were looking at the second method of receiving healing. Ask the Father in Jesus name. This will require us to go to Scripture first and the determine which one we will stand on. Once we have a foundation for our prayer we will then be able to approach God in prayer and argue our case.
Prayer is fellowship with our heavenly Father. He has given us access to His very throne through the blood of Jesus.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
Paul tells us that we can expect to find ourselves accepted by God when we approach Him in prayer.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:6
People hesitate at the thought of approaching God. They lack a revelation of their position in Christ. Notice that Paul said we have been “made accepted by God.”
Our sin nature blocked us from God’s presence. It is the reason Adam and Eve were forced out of the garden.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
From Paul’s statements we see that God has made us His righteousness and He has made us acceptable. This is why we can approach His throne with boldness.
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
John 16:23
The prayer for healing is a prayer of faith. Approaching the Father with a petition for healing requires faith. Faith is based on His Word. This is why I said that people often rush into prayer.
Many people base their prayer on their needs. God does not answer prayer based on our need. We don’t go to God and ask for healing based on our pain. Our approach must be based on Scripture.
We saw in our foundational posts that healing is not always instantaneous. If we base our prayers on our needs and do not receive an instant manifestation the door to discouragement will be opened. Rushing into prayer without first going to Scripture is sure to keep us in this place.
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Romans 4:21
We cannot be fully persuaded without a foundation built on the Word of God. We meditate on the Word until we become persuaded and then we will be able to stand until the healing is fully manifested.
