We have been discussing methods of receiving healing. The first was to simply ask or demand in the Name of Jesus. This was based on John 14:13.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Second, we can pray to the Father in the name of Jesus.
We discussed the importance of first going to the Word before praying. Christians tend to rush into prayer without first establishing a foundation.
God will always honor His Word. He told us to plead our case with Him.
Hear now what the LORD says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, And let the hills hear your voice.
We plead our case based on Scripture.
Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
“Father, your word says that it was by Jesus’ stripes I was healed. You cannot lie so I come to you on the basis of your Word and ask for healing in the name of Jesus. Thank you.”
Every Christian has a legal basis to approach God. This is provided through the blood of Jesus.
People want to rush into prayer. If we do not approach Him on the basis of His Word, we will have not have a foundation to believe.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
God is not obligated to anything except His Word. We must take the time to find Scripture that promise what we are believing for before we approach Him in prayer. God’s Word is the only way we will ever be able to build a solid case for healing.
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24
There are many other examples that we could look at. We must make the time to meditate on them to allow them to become revelation knowledge. Once they become revelation we will become bold.
I have heard people talk about “trying” these things. The problem is that they “tried”.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James did not tell us to become “triers” of the Word. He told us to do it!
We have discussed the importance of finding Scripture to base our prayers on. Once we have done this we will then meditate until the Word is able to become revelation. This is the point where will be able to approach God with boldness to plead our case for healing. It requires more time to do what I am saying but this is the process we will follow if our goal is to receive a healing.
