How To Receive Healing Part 6

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
John 16:23

We finished our last post with this verse. Here we see Jesus telling the disciples that in the day we are living, we can ask the Father in Jesus’ name and have an expectation of receiving.

Jesus said, “If you need healing for your body ask the Father in my name and He will give it to you.”

We can pray to the Father in the name of Jesus and receive healing. I believe that the key word here is “receive”. In the mind of God our healing has already been provided. Jesus has already purchased it for us.

The problem most Christians seem to struggle with is with receiving what has already been provided in Christ Jesus. We can pray for healing. This is a covenant right.

“Father I come to you through the blood of Jesus and ask for healing of this sickness in the name of Jesus. I believe I receive and thank you for it. Amen.”

Jesus said that we will receive this way. Asking in prayer is the then the second method by which we can receive divine healing.

Prayer is our second method but we must not rush to prayer. It is good to pray but we must do so based on the Word of God. If we jump immediately into prayer without first going to the Word, we will not have a foundation to stand on.

It is important for us to determine what we are basing our prayers on before we pray. Our fellowship and petitions before God will always be on the basis of His Word.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

God will always honor His Word.

Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
Isaiah 41:21

Our cause must always be founded in Scripture.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:11

The word of our testimony is the Word of God.
