Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
The Church seems to have become a passive entity. Some are rising up in their authority but not enough. I believe that the deterioration of society around us is largely a result of this.
I believe that we need to develop a revelation of our position in Christ. Without this we will never stand in the place of authority God has called us to walk in.
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
Ephesians 1:13
If you have invited Jesus into your heart you have been made a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). You have been sealed in Him by the Holy Spirit. This is why you can enter into God’s presence with boldness!
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Matthew 10:8
Jesus told His disciples that they were to “heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out devils”. He did not tell them to ask Him to do it for them. We saw in a previous post that He is unchanging. His instructions to the disciples are His instructions to us!
We can “heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out devils”! This is possible because we are sealed in Him and are anointed with His Holy Spirit.
If this is possible then why we not seeing more people do it? The reason is that we’ve allowed ourselves to become distracted from God’s Word. Walking in authority will require us to first develop a revelation of our position in Christ.
Revelation comes from the Word of God. It does not come from a cursory reading of the Word. We must give careful and considerate thought to God’s Word every day.
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Genesis 8:22
The earth operates according to the principle of seedtime and harvest. If you desire revelation knowledge you must first sow the Word in your heart. The seed must be planted and then time must be given to allow it to produce a harvest of revelation knowledge.
Jesus told His disciples that they were to “heal the sick”. This is not what we are doing today.
“Oh God please stretch forth your hand and heal this suffering one.”
I have heard people pray prayers similar to this. They are not in line with Scripture. It is no wonder that the Church seems so powerless today.
The healing power of God cannot be accessed by begging and pleading with God. We have been sealed into Christ by the Holy Spirit. To walk in the authority provided in Him we will have to pay a price. The Word of God must be planted in our hearts and given time to produce a harvest of revelation.
