Boldness In The Presence

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Matthew 10:8

Have you ever given much thought to Jesus’ instructions to the disciples? I don’t think that many of us have.

It seems that the average Christian forgets the words of Hebrews 4:16:

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We are told to approach the throne of God boldly. Why then do so many approach with timidity as if they will be rejected?

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:6

If you have made Jesus the Lord of your life you will always find God accepting you with open arms. Our approach to the throne is through the blood and our standing is in Jesus.

It does not matter how many mistakes we may have made. Jesus’ blood will always be sufficient to wash us clean of them all. This is why we will always find ourselves accepted when we enter the presence of God.

Jesus told His disciple to “heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out devils”. He did not tell them to ask Him to do it!

We need a revelation of our position in Christ. Our standing and our authority is not based on our abilities or works. They are based on who we have been made in Him!

“Oh God I am nothing but a worthless speck without you…”

I’ve heard people pray prayers like this. They are correct that we are nothing without Him. Where they miss it though is that a Christian will never be without God or Jesus.

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
Ephesians 1:13

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5

I have watched people over the past few months of the pandemic that has swept the globe. It is apparent that most have more faith in what they are being told by the news and government are saying than in what the Word of God tells us.
