Reigning With Christ In This Life

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
2 Peter 1:3

We are going to begin a new series today. Peter tells us that “all things that pertain to life and godliness” are provided to us through “the knowledge of Him” who has called us. The Him Peter references is Jesus.

When Peter said “all things” have been provided he did not add any exceptions. If you have physical symptoms attacking your body this verse indicates the root is a knowledge problem. You do not have a revelation of God’s healing covenant.

Please understand that my statements are not made to bring condemnation. These past few weeks I’ve been attacked by a kidney infection. This was an attack focused on distracting me from the ministry God has called me to.

Over the years I’ve learned that the first step to take when attacked by physical symptoms is to pray for understanding of my knowledge gaps. In this case the Lord led my wife to a series of messages delivered by the leader of our church. We took those messages and immediately began to listen.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Romans 8:1

I want you to understand that the Spirit of God will never condemn you. A lack of knowledge in any area is something we will all experience. In my case there was knowledge contained in the series of messages that I was missing. This does not mean I had disappointed God. It merely meant that my lack of revelation knowledge in that area of redemption had opened a door for the enemy to walk through.

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24

I have heard people quote this verse and push back on my position about their having a lack of knowledge. Peter told us that God has provided “all things” through the knowledge of Jesus. This knowledge comes through the Word of God through revelation of His Word.

We can memorize a bunch of Scriptures and still not have a revelation. God did not call us to fill our heads with His Word. It takes time to meditate on the Word of God which is the key to our receiving revelation knowledge.

“My doctor said that this diagnosis is terminal.”

People say things like this because the have a revelation of the doctor’s report. Walking in faith does not mean we ignore these things. I was diagnosed with a kidney infection. That is a serious condition and it was not an easy road to walk. Victory required us to focus our attention on the Word of God. It did not require us to deny that there was something wrong.

So everything that pertains to our life and Christian walk comes through revelation knowledge of Jesus. In this series of posts we are going to spend time examining what this means. Our goal will be to discover how we can walk in the fullness of all He has provided in our redemption.

  1. Good Word. Now I understand what the scripture means about Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. (Proverbs 4:7) Blessings and Peace.
