God’s Plan For Your Life

Did you know that a Christian should never work to make a living? While it is important for us to make a living our first priority must be the plan of God. He will take care of us if we will learn to put His things first.

Our work should be viewed as an opportunity for us to operate in the call and gifts of God. If we are good stewards of the work God calls us to, He will take care of us and give us favor for promotion. My job is an opportunity to touch my coworkers with God’s love.

I want to show something that Paul said in Galatians 1. In this chapter he tells us that his letters were instructions given by revelation of the Holy Spirit.

But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
Galatians 1:11-17

Paul was separated to the Gospel ministry from his mother’s womb. God had a purpose and plan for his life that was decided before Paul was born. He also has a plan and purpose for each of our live. We may try to do our own thing and present our natural talents to God but He is not going to bless us or for doing so. He is not obligated to bless our plans!

Paul had a stirring inside of him and pursued his plan. He became a leader in his religion and even called himself a “Pharisee of the Pharisees”. Prior to salvation he became so religiously indoctrinated that he killed and persecuted Christians left and right! He was trying to serve God but not the way God had called him to.

Paul finally met Christ on the Damascus road. He finally stepped into the plan of God and ended up writing nearly two thirds of the New Testament. What would Christianity look like today without the revelation found in Paul’s writings?

Every single person has a plan. Following it will result in a ripple effect that could effect generations of believers. If we miss God’s calling there is no telling how many thousands of people throughout the world could be affected if the Lord tarries.

We must discover what God has called us to do. He has a unique calling on each one of our lives. Many people struggle with dissatisfaction in where life has taken them. God’s plan and calling is the only place any of us will truly find peace and satisfaction.

Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Jeremiah 1:4-5

Just as God knew Jeremiah and ordained him a prophet in the womb He also has a plan that each one of us is ordained to walk in.

For there is no respect of persons with God.
Romans 2:11

God has no respect which means that He does not show favor. He did not just have a plan for Moses, David, and Jeremiah. Every single person has been separated to a specific plan and purposes from their mother’s womb. It is not possible for any of us to reach our full potential if we do not enter into and pursue that plan.

God’s calling for Jeremiah was established before he was born. His calling for your life was established before you were born. If you will pursue Him and seek Him, He will reveal His plan and calling to you. He filled you with His Holy Spirit and will guide and lead you into the plan but you must choose to follow!
