And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
Matthew 14:28-29
Did you know that there was enough power in that one word (come) to enable Peter to walk on water? If we will step out and do what the Lord has called us to do, there will be an anointing on what we are doing!
Jesus told Peter to “come”. There was enough anointing in that word that Peter was able to walk on water.
When we get a Word from God we will not have to pray and ask to bless what we are doing when we obey. We will not have to stay up and night worrying about how we’ll be able to accomplish what He has called us to do.
If God calls us to do something then it will be His responsibility to make it work if we obey and are doing what He told us to do!
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17
God would be unjust to include a verse like this in His Word if His will was something we were unable to find out. If we just had to live our lives “hoping” we would someday find God’s will, then this verse would be an unjust command.
God has a plan for every person who will ever draw breath on this planet! He wants to reveal it to us. We will limit His ability work in our lives if we don’t know beyond a shadow of any doubt that we are doing exactly what He has called us to do.
Do you know beyond a shadow of any doubt that you are working in the job God called you to work in?
Do you know beyond a shadow of any doubt that you are attending the church He has called you to attend?
Our lives and effort should be focused solely on the calling of God. His call is not limited to just to those who are in full time ministry. He has a call and plan for each one of His children!
God has called me to write this blog and minister through social media. He has a calling on your life that will look much different. The key is that each of us has a call on our lives and can walk in it.
It is sad but most Christians struggle with finding the plan of God today. I believe the reason is that the Church of our day has been influenced more by the world than probably at any time in the past. There is humanistic spirit permeating the world which seems to have spilled over into the Church.
God created every person alive on purpose! He has a special plan that was written before any of us took our first breath.
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
Psalms 139:13-17
This is written in Old English terminology but it basically just means that God knew us and had a plan for our lives when we were still in our mother’s womb.
God has a unique plan for your life! You are not a mistake. It does not matter whether your parents may have thought you were an accident or mistake, you are not! God knew you before you were conceived and He wrote His plan for your life in His book before you ever took your first breath!
And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.
Luke 1:41
John the Baptist was still in His mother’s womb when Mary greeted her. He leaped for joy and was filled with the Holy Ghost three months before he was born!
But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.
1 Samuel 13:14
This statement was made almost eight years before David was born but it was referring to him! The Lord commanded him to be “captain over his people” years before he was conceived.
You were created and designed by God with a specific purpose. None of us had any control over where we were born or what gifts were placed in us. We do have a responsibility to develop the abilities God has given us.
It seems like a lot of Christians who think that God was not aware of them before they prayed the sinners prayer and became a Christian. We may have been 20, 30, or 40 when we became a Christian but God was aware of us before we were born!
One of the largest areas of difficulty for new Christians seems to come from the fact that they are taught to ask God to bless what they have been doing. It may not even have been the plan of God for them. The first thing we should be asking for is a revelation of His plan. If we are walking in that, our efforts will be blessed!
