Created in True Holiness

We have been discussing the nature of man. God created us spirit beings. We have a soul which consists of our mind, will, intellect, and emotions and we live in a body. When we became a Christian it was our spirit that was recreated into a brand new creation.

Our relationship with God must be based on who we are in the spirit realm. It is very difficult for us to progress in our Christian walk without a solid understanding of who we are in the spirit.

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)

The new man is the part of our being that was born again. Paul tells us that our spirit has been recreated in righteousness and true holiness. This is different from what most minsters teach.

It is different but it is also great news. We are not working towards becoming righteous and holy. When we were born again God recreated our spirits were made as pure and holy as Jesus is right now!

Righteousness is not something that we are growing into. Paul tells us that it is a gift that is received when we were born again.

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) (Romans 5:17)

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

Jesus is our righteousness! Our performance and right actions are absolutely useless in our relationship with God.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

Salvation was the only answer to man’s sin problem. When a person is born again they are recreated in righteousness and holiness.
