A Revelation Of Our Spiritual Nature

We have been talking about our true nature and who we are in Christ. I believe that this is a foundational message that we need revelation in.

Christian marriages would be much more fulfilling if each person viewed the other through the lens of who they in Christ Jesus. This will require us to learn to look at our spouses through the lens of Scripture!

Finances would become less of a concern if we learned to view our needs through the lens of Scripture verses the natural realm. This does not mean we are in denial of what is happening. I believe it does mean we make a choice that the Word of God will be final authority in the realm of finances.

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

The Bible tells us that God has given us “the power to get wealth”. A person who does not understand the spiritual realm will read a verse like this and try to find that power in their mind or job.

To understand a verse like Deuteronomy 8:18 requires us to first understand that we are a new creation in the spirit. Godly prosperity requires us to first gain a revelation that we are a spirit, have a soul, and live in a body. Many people have heard messages on prosperity and ended up in ruin trying to apply what they heard without first developing a revelation of who they are in Christ.

The things of the Spirit cannot be discerned with our intellect or emotions. A natural mirror will not reflect our inner spiritual nature. We will have to open up the Bible to view ourselves in the spiritual realm.

Operating in the anointing will require us to first gain revelation of who we are in Christ Jesus!

Praying for people and seeing results will require us to first gain a revelation of who we are in Christ Jesus.

I could go on but hope you are starting to understand the necessity of developing a revelation of who we are in Christ is to our Christian walk. This is why I stated at the beginning of this post that the revelation is our foundation we build our Christian life off of. The foundation of this revelation is the Word of God.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)

Over the years I’ve heard people reference this verse and say it can’t be true because they are not blessed. They could not “see” the blessings and so made a judgment call on the input of their five physical senses.

A person who views their Christian experience through the lens of their five physical senses is carnal. Paul said that God “hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings”. These will affect our natural circumstances but only if we learn to look first inward to the Holy Spirit within. The Bible calls this “walking by faith”.

When we were saved we became a new creation in the spiritual realm. All of God’s blessings were deposited into our Spirit and we draw them out into the natural realm will require faith.

We are spirit beings that have a soul and live in a body. Our soul consists of our mind, will, and emotions. It must be renewed by the Word of God.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

The word translated “conform” could also be translated “mold into”. We allow ourselves to be molded by the world around us or we allow ourselves to be molded by the Word of God.
