Internal Transformation

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

If you are a Christian you have been completely transformed. You were created a living spirit that has a soul and lives in a body. Your spirit was completely transformed by the Spirit of God. Paul tells us that our old sinful nature has passed away and that things have become new.

The world is focused on the natural realm. We can see evidence of this in the current pandemic that has swept the globe. People are gripped with fear because they do not understand the spiritual realm. A lot of what we see going on is not rational but instead being driven by Satan and demons.

I am not downplaying what has happened or the seriousness of this situation. God provided healing from Covid-19 before the first person began to show symptoms. To show my point of how irrational the response has been let me share some quick statistics about previous pandemics:

  • Smallpox Pandemic of 1633 (Killed 80% of Indian population living in the New England Colonies)
  • Yellow Fever Pandemic of 1793 in Philadelphia (Killed 5,000+ in a city of 50,000)
  • First Cholera Pandemic 0f 1817 (total deaths unknown but estimated to be above 1,000,000)
  • Second Cholera Pandemic of 1829 (approximate)
  • Third Cholera Pandemic of 1852 (23,000 deaths in the United Kingdom / global amount of deaths is unknown)
  • Fourth Cholera Pandemic of 1863 (estimated 600,000+ deaths)
  • Fifth Cholera Pandemic of 1872 (estimated 190,000+ deaths)

This is just a small list of the pandemics that the world has faced.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

We have faced pandemics and if Jesus tarries we will face them again.

The majority of people are fixated on what is happening around them in the physical realm. In previous posts we have seen that the Bible refers to this as being “carnally minded”. When you make a decision to begin focusing your attention on God’s Word there will be resistance.

People will try and get you out of the Spirit and back into the flesh realm with them because that is what they consider to be “real”.

If you have received Jesus and become a Christian then you are first of all a spirit being. You do not have to be dominated by your flesh any longer. The things that God has made you in the spirit are who you really are.

The challenge is that people want a quick solution to their problems. They turn to Jesus and begin studying the Bible. When there are no “perceived” changes in a short period of time they will get discouraged and turn to something else.

I have heard people talk about “trying” this Christianity stuff. God seeks a relationship with mankind and we must continue pressing in regardless of what our outward appearance or situation may look like.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)

We have been blessed with “all spiritual blessings”. This is not something that will happen in the future. It is a reality now! To access those blessings we will have to turn inwardly and begin to seek God with all of our hearts.

If you will continue to set aside time for prayer and the Bible you will experience a harvest of “life and peace”. There will be a time of planting but if you don’t quit, you will see a harvest begin to spring up!

The Word of God is your window into the realm of the Spirit. In the natural realm we look out windows to see what is happening. We can do the same thing with the Word of God.

We have been made a new creation in Christ Jesus and are just as righteous and pure as Jesus is right now! My wife and I have a friend whose daughter has locked herself in her bedroom to seek God for a cleansing so she will be pure enough to make the rapture. Jesus washed us in His blood and we do not need to turn to goofy practices like this. Christians have all sorts of goofy ideas and practices because they try to live off of experiences instead of taking the time to open their window (i.e., Bible) and take the time to examine what God says about them.
