Did you know that if you have been born again then what Jesus has done for you is infinitely greater than any problem you will ever face? He died as your substitute and He paid the penalty due as a result of your sin!
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)
The carnal mind is focused on the natural realm. If we will stop being carnally minded and instead start looking at ourselves through the lens of who we are in Christ Jesus our lives would be changed. We closed the last post with a few sample Scriptures but I still want to give you a few more:
Ephesians 1:4 I was chosen in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blame before Him in love.
Ephesians 1:5 I was predestined to be adopted by Jesus Christ to Himself according to the good pleasure of His will.
Ephesians 1:6 I was made accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:7 In whom I have redemption and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His graces through His blood.
Ephesians 1:8 He has abounded toward me in all wisdom and prudence.
I encourage you to go through the remaining chapters of Ephesians and then begin in Romans. Look for passages with “in Him” or “through whom” and write them out. The more time you spend meditating on these, the more you will find your viewpoint changed.
I am not denying that problems exist or that some people have worse lives than others. Jesus did not just die to provide freedom from the struggles of life when we get to heaven. His blessings are for now but require for us to place our focus on the things of God.
I have heard sing hymns about the sweet bye and bye but Jesus came to provide us with freedom in the rough now and now!
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. (2 Peter 1:3)
Jesus saved us and makes all of His blessing available to us through “the knowledge” of His Word. It is to the degree that we are focused on who we are in Him that our faith will become effectual.
There are people who argue against the things that I am sharing with you. Ministers have taught these things and made them sound like a magic wand that just needs to be waved. The truth is that your flesh and Satan will both fight against you but you must be persistent and keep pressing in.
Everything in creation operates by the principles of seedtime and harvest. You are living in the harvest of seeds planted previously. If you do not like the harvest you’re experiencing in your life then change the seeds.
If your life is producing death it is because you have been carnally minded. This is what Paul states in Romans 8:6. The Word of God is absolute and will never change.
The carnal mind will always produce death in our lives. Carnal is a reference to where our focus is fixed. If we have death manifesting in the form of depression, sickness, financial lack, or in any other form it is an indicator that we have been carnally minded.
A person who is Word minded will get Word results if they stick to the Word. You did not get into your current situation overnight and will not get out overnight. This is where people miss it. The “try” the Word of God and get discouraged when things don’t change immediately.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)
The Word of God is “spirit” and “life”. It is full of seeds that will produce a harvest of life if we continue in it and keep planting it into our heart on a daily basis.
Being spiritually minded means that we are focused on the truths of God’s Word.
