If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you have been made into an entirely new species of being in the spirit (2 Corinthians 5:17)!
In the spirit you are in perfect relationship with God!
That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. (Philemon 1:6)
Most Christians never experience the full benefits of salvation because the do not acknowledge the good things that God has deposited in their spirit. We live like the unsaved when we have been recreated and sealed into Christ by the Holy Spirit!
If you are a Christian you do not have to live like the unsaved. There is one third of your being that is complete, perfect, and as pure as Jesus is.
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17)
John tells us that we are “as he is” now “in this world”. This is not something that is going to happen! It is something that happened the moment you were born again and became a Christian.
You have His ability!
You have His Spirit dwelling in your spirit!
I can guarantee that your life will be changed if you gain a revelation of this.
It is absolutely impossible for a Christian to be defeated, depressed, and ready to quit with a revelation and awareness of who they are in Christ.
Who we have been made in Christ is so glorious that it will put a shout of praise in our hearts!
If you have struggled with depression then I guarantee you have been looking more at the natural world than the spiritual. This was something that I struggled with in the past and the Lord showed me it was because I was not spending time meditating on who I was in Christ.
If you are are not excited about your life and your future then your are not acknowledging who you are in Christ. You have the greatest power this world has ever experienced living on the inside of you.
The Holy Spirit was present in creation moving on the face of the earth (see Genesis 1 – 2). When God spoke He moved and He is living inside the spirit of every single Christian in the earth!
God’s plans for us are much greater than our plans for our own lives.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)
God has planned an amazing future for you! Far too many Christians miss His plan because they live a life dominated by the natural realm. Too experience everything God has planned for us will require us to gain a revelation of who we are in the spiritual realm.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)
People struggle in their Christian lives because they are carnally minded. Most Christians will spend more time sitting in front of a television than they spend in prayer and studying God’s Word. This is why we so many struggle through life just like the unsaved do.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (1 John 5:24)
If you are born again you have “passed from death unto life”. You have the potential to live in a completely different dimension, the dimension of the spirit.
You have a new spirit!
You have new abilities in the spirit!
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!
If you are not experiencing victory it is because you are not acknowledging the good things that are in you! I am not saying this to bring condemnation but to show the potential that God has placed inside of you.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)
Carnal Mindedness = Death
Spiritual Mindedness = Life and Peace
We should be examining the fruit of our lives on a daily basis.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
When Paul wrote this he was not just referring to physical death. Depression, discouragement, bitterness, and unforgiveness are all forms of death working in our soul. If you have any of these things manifesting in your life you are not spiritually minded.
Carnal mindedness produces death.
Think about a garden. If the gardener planted corn we would not have to see the seeds to know he had done so at harvest time. The rows of corn would be a tell tail sign of what was planted!
Everything that is growing in our lives today started with a seed we planted yesterday. That is basically what Romans 8:6 is telling us. If we do not like the fruit growing in our lives we need to change what we are planting in the garden of our soul.
