Welcome back. We closed our discussion yesterday with a summary of the three parts of man:
- spirit
- soul
- body
I told you that your spirit is the part of you which was recreated when you became a Christian. Your soul is the part of you which must be renewed with the Word of God.
The victorious life that so many people are chasing is really just a matter of a simple majority. Our spirit was recreated into the image of God. If we get our mind into agreement with our spirit then our physical bodies will respond.
It is simple math – 2 against 1. Either our body and soul are in alignment or our spirit and soul are in alignment. The first leads to defeat and the second into victory.
The reason that most Christians are not experiencing victory in their daily lives is because they are more focused on natural things than they are on God.
“The doctors said…”
“The newspaper said…”
We have the power of God in our spirit but are moved more by what is going on in the world around us than by the things of God. The power cannot leak into our bodies from our spirit because our minds have not been renewed to the Word.
The spirit and soul must be brought into alignment for the Word of God to take effect in our lives. Each one of us has been given the freewill to choose where we place our attention. We can choose to focus on the Word of God or we can choose to focus on the natural realm.
Scripture tells us that we are identical to Jesus and that we are overcomers!
You are a winner and have already won!
If you are born again then you have all of the power of God inside of you. It is time that we stop acting like beggars.
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2 Peter 1:3-4)
God has provided for our every need before we were even conceived in our mother’s womb!. His provision is accessed through His Word and if we are not spending time in His Word we are not going to live in the victorious life that He destined for us to live.
