But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:11)
Did you know that you have the exact same power and ability inside of you that raised Jesus from the dead? God has placed everything we will ever need to walk in His power inside of our spirits.
We have the faith of God.
We have the mind of God.
We have the anointing of God.
Christians pray and plead with God to send His power down from the heavens above because they do not have a revelation of who they are in Christ. God does not have any more power to pour out! He placed His Spirit in our spirit when we were saved and the Holy Spirit brought all of God’s power with Him.
In previous posts we have looked at the sin nature of man. This required us to be judged and Jesus stepped in to take that judgment in our place. When we invited Him into our heart we were made a completely new species of being!
Christians struggle with the concept of being accepted with God because they functionally only know themselves after the flesh. There is a lack of revelation in the Church today of the change that occurred in our spirits when we became a Christian.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
This verse tells us that “all things” have become new. The literal translation of it reads “…a new species of being that never existed before”. We were made a totally brand new person when we became a Christian!
This is not the perception of most Christians. The majority of people who call themself a Christian today are carnal. This does not mean that they live in utter perverseness. It means that they allow their lives to be controlled by the five physical senses instead of the spirit.
If we allow ourselves to be dominated by what we see in the mirror; by what we feel; or by what we are hearing about the world around us we will never walk at the level God desires for us. Far too many people think that they are exactly what they see in the mirror but that is not true.
Think about the response a person give when we ask how they are doing. They might describe a pain they have been dealing with or they might talk about how things did not go right them today. Each of these are carnal responses.
There is a spirit you that very few of us know. Let me give you a verse to chew on and then we will pick up with it tomorrow.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
