But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11
The Holy Spirit is the person and the power behind the resurrection of Jesus. He lives inside of our spirit. The writer of Acts tells us that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power (Acts 10:38). This same Spirit is dwelling inside of our spirits. We have the same faith that Jesus had, the same anointing, and the same power but are lacking a revelation of these truths. I believe that this is the reason why we are not seeing greater manifestation of His presence and power in our services.
I have heard a lot of people in prayer meetings begging and pleading with God for Him to anoint them. The Bible tells us to approach His throne with boldness (Hebrews 4:16). Jesus took our sins through His sacrifice on the cross. This has resulted in our being given the right and privilege to approach God at any time (2 Corinthians 5:21).
It seems that the majority of people in churches today functionally only know themselves after the flesh. They live their entire lives far below what God has provided for them because they are bound to the input of their five physical senses. The people who are approaching God like beggars have no revelation of who they are in Christ. Paul tells us that we have become completely new creations in Christ.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
A Christian has gone through a complete change in the spiritual realm. The literal translation of 2 Corinthians 5:17 reads “a new species of being that never existed before”. Try and wrap your head around that. In the spirit realm everything from our past has been place under the blood and no longer exists.
The majority of Christians do not have a revelation of what happened when they accepted Jesus. They have not taken the time to become grounded in the Word of God and are carnal. I know that people are offended when you accuse them of being carnal. They do not understand that this means they ruled by their five physical senses.
In my experience the majority of Christians I’ve met are dominated by what they see in the mirror, their emotions, their bank balance, or physical symptoms. If you do not believe this then try asking someone how they are doing. The response you will receive most likely is going to in line with the natural realm.
“I’ve been struggling at work…”
“I think I’m coming down with a cold…”
“My children are driving me crazy…”
Each of these responses are carnal. Mankind was created in the image of God. We are spiritual beings but suffer due to a lack of awareness of who we are in Christ.
