Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! (Psalms 139:16-17)
God knew us before we were born. He developed a plan and then wrote it in His book for safekeeping. Every gift and grace that we will need to fulfill that plan were allocated for us before the moment we took our first breath. This is amazing to think about. Can any of us even begin to imagine how much God must love us to have planned out the life of every single person who would ever live throughout time before they are even born? There are people today who argue that babies are not human until they are born and some US states have even passed laws allowing them to be aborted up until the moment they emerge from the womb. Each one of these aborted lives included a God ordained plan that will never be fulfilled. The talents and graces set aside for each of these lives were meant for a specific purpose that we will never be blessed by.
There are billions of people alive today and can any of us begin to imagine the immensity of what God did when He planned out each of our lives? There are people who believe the were an accident but not one person who has ever lived is a mistake. Each of us has a chapter set aside in God’s book where our plan is written out. Our plan is as unique as we are! No two people will ever have the same plan! Each of us was born with every talent and gifting needed to accomplish that plan but it is up to us to choose to either walk in them or not to. God has provided for us everything needed to succeed but He also gave us the freedom to choose and will never force us to walk in His plan. No two people have the same plan. If we choose not to walk in our plan He may call someone else to complete it but then we must ask ourselves what will happen to their plan? The Bible doesn’t tell us the answer to this question. God may have foresaw that we would not choose to follow Him and developed a plan for someone else that would involve them taking our place. I am sure we will find out the answer to these questions when we get to heaven.
God planned out our lives. We have a purpose and are called to greatness! The question is whether we are willing to pay whatever price will be required for us to discover and fulfill that plan?
