We are going to begin a journey in this post. Our destination is the plan of God and along the way we will make several stops to pick items that will assist us in our journey to discover this plan which was built before any of us were even conceived. As we start let me take a moment to mention how important it will be for our success that each one of us develop our imaginations. Over the years I’ve observed that many Christians do not understand the role this has in our being able to successfully discover and pursue the plan of God. If we are unable to see into the spirit realm, we will never find the path God laid out for us to walk. This will result in our walking from path to path without ever ending up on the right one and this is why so many Christians wonder through life frustrated with their journey. The imagination is so important that I believe our ability to succeed in this journey is absolutely dependent on our ability to become visionaries.
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (Proverbs 29:18)
We develop our imaginations by spending much time meditating in the Word of God. It is during our times of meditating in the Word that the Holy Spirit will begin to paint the vision and plan God laid out for our lives on the canvas of our imaginations. Many people have started on the same journey as we are undertaking but have failed for one reason or another. There will be a price that each one of us will need to pay in order to succeed but we are not alone in the journey. The Holy Spirit will be with us each step of the way and will strengthen us when we feel too weak to keep pushing forward.
So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLV)
The devil will use troubles and trials to distract us from our destination if we will let him. He is very tricky and we will not succeed if we allow ourselves to be confined by what our five physical senses will tell us.
